\ a catalog of influences \ spring 2014 \
Focusing on the pairing of hoarding as a psychological study, as well as a trait found in many designers, I created a catalog of compiled imagery that serves as inspiration to me. Using density, layering, scale shifts, and uncomfortable cropping, I created a hoarded environment that allows the contents to be less precious. I emphasized that imperfect, less precious, quality by punching a hole through the center of the catalog, holding it together with a screw post. The sections spin creating a seemingly haphazard stack of organized chaos.
Each of the nine sections are dedicated to specific kind of inspiration: music, texture, multiples, printmaking, puzzles etc. The sections are divided up into four further sections: a psych article about collecting & mental health, a physical example of visual inspiration, a poster, as well as a list of the featured inspiration in the poster.
